Our Choirs and Contemporary Teams

The Education Ministry is comprised of various teams. Each team is responsible for a specific
Christian Education ministry. the goal of each team is to provide the congregation with opportunities and resources for study that will enrich the lives of all members. Sunday church School, Catechism, Vacation Bible School and Bible studies fall under the umbrella of Education Ministry.

Sunday Church School is offered year-round at 9:45 am for age 4 through adult. A toddler class/nursery for those three and under is also available for parents to attend Sunday Church School or contemporary worship. Everyone gathers for a brief opening in the multi-purpose room led by Joyce Cramer, Education Coordinator. After the opening, students are dismissed to individual classrooms for their lesson. At 11:00 am, Sunday Church School is held during the school year for middle school and high school students and adults to offer an educational opportunity for those who attend contemporary worship. They meet in the conference room

Catechism classes are held on various Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm during the school year. Catechism is for students in 6th, 7th & 8th grades. These classes are a DACLM effort. Pastor Katherine Douglass, Pastor Chris Ramsey and Ministry Assistant Deanne Armagost share responsibility for teaching these classes. The classes divide into small groups for discussion which are led by parents or other adult guides. The youth also participate in monthly service projects and serve as acolytes on Sunday mornings as part of the catechism curriculum. Upon completion of the three-year program, the youth affirm their baptisms on Pentecost.

Vacation Bible School meets for one week each summer. Children in pre-school through fifth grade are invited to this week full of fun and learning. The program is offered in the morning and includes class time, music, crafts, games and snacks. .

Men's Bible Study usually meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 pm and is led by Pastor Emeritus Vernon Miller. Click HERE for more about the Men's Group at Christ Lutheran Church.

Women's Bible study - There are two women's Bible study groups.  One study group meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the church, beginning at noon with lunch, followed by their study.  The other women's group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at the church with Bible study, followed by a fellowship time with dessert. 

Tuesday afternoon Bible study is held year-round at 2:00 pm in the conference room and is led by Pastor Chris Ramsey.
